The District Project Monitoring Unit (DPMU) plays a significant role in strengthening the Basic Education Department by supporting and coordinating comprehensive training and capacity-building programmes for teachers, headmasters, academic resource persons, and education officials at the district level.
DPMU assists in training need assessment by analyzing school performance data, learning outcomes, teacher requirements, and feedback from the field. Based on these insights, DPMU helps plan targeted trainings focusing on foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), teaching–learning methodologies, classroom management, student assessment, digital education tools, inclusive education, and implementation of national education initiatives such as PM SHRI schools.
During training implementation, DPMU supports logistics, scheduling, attendance tracking, and coordination with DIET, BEO offices, and other education stakeholders. It also ensures that training content aligns with government guidelines and district priorities.
Post-training, DPMU monitors training effectiveness by reviewing teacher performance, classroom practices, and student learning outcomes. Training reports, dashboards, and follow-up reviews are prepared to support decision-making by the district administration.
Through systematic planning, monitoring, and reporting, DPMU helps build teacher capacity, improve education quality, and strengthen the overall performance of the Basic Education Department at the district level.
